About Project
This project transformed a brownstone cellar into a sophisticated, multi purpose space designed for relaxation, productivity, and fitness. The primary challenge was to create a
cozy lounge with a sunken sofa for occasional wine tastings while accommodating a collection of rare wines. Additionally, the space needed to function as both a workout area and a home office. Key design solutions included expanding the narrow staircase with built-in storage
and repositioning the storage area door to optimize functionality. A cove ceiling light and an oversized wall fixture were incorporated to soften the space and add depth. Sliding doors were installed to provide privacy between the office and lounge/workout areas. Custom-built elements, including additional storage and a bespoke sofa, enhanced comfort and reinforced the inviting, lounge-like atmosphere.
