Our Approach

A home should feel unmistakably yours.

We create warm, thoughtful interiors shaped around the people who live in them. Every project begins with understanding how you live, what you're drawn to, and how you want your home to feel.

From the first conversation to the final installation, we balance beauty with function, thoughtful details with everyday comfort, and a clear creative vision with the realities of budget and construction.

The result is a home that feels collected over time, deeply personal, and effortless to live in.

01

We Listen

Every project starts with a walk-through and a conversation.

We want to understand how you live, what you love, what isn’t working, and how you want each room to feel. We talk through priorities, possibilities, timeline, and budget before developing the design. If your building has a board or alteration rules, we fold them in from the start.

02

Concept & Direction

This is where the home begins to take shape.

We explore layouts, mood, materials, color, and furnishings through floor plans, concept boards, material palettes, and preliminary selections. Alongside the design, we establish a clear budget so you understand where the project is headed before moving forward.

03

Design & Source

Once the direction is established, we develop every detail.

Furniture, lighting, textiles, finishes, custom millwork, and one-of-a-kind pieces are considered together to create a home that feels layered and cohesive. Floor plans and 3D renderings allow you to see the space taking shape before decisions are finalized.

04

Manage & Install

Once the design is approved, we take care of what happens behind the scenes.

We coordinate purchasing, vendors, workrooms, deliveries, schedules, and installation. When everything arrives, we bring the rooms together and style the home down to the final detail.

Behind the Design

The finished room begins long before installation day

Mood boards, material palettes, floor plans, elevations, drawings, and 3D renderings allow us to explore ideas, resolve details, and settle decisions before they become part of your home.

That quiet groundwork is why the finished rooms feel calm.

From vision to home: designed down to the details

A beautiful home isn’t created one piece at a time.

We consider proportion, circulation, material, color, lighting, and the way you live, developing each decision as part of one complete vision.

Sourced beyond the showroom

Our projects bring together trade-only collections, independent makers, custom workrooms, vintage finds, and thoughtfully selected retail pieces.

The goal isn’t simply to fill a room. It’s to find the pieces that make it distinctly yours.

Custom, when the project needs it

Sometimes the right piece simply doesn’t exist.

We design custom millwork, cabinetry, furniture, upholstery, and architectural details when the project needs something made specifically for it.

The details, managed

There is a great deal that happens between approving a design and living in the finished home.

We manage purchasing, vendors, workrooms, order tracking, deliveries, and installation so that hundreds of individual details ultimately come together as one complete space.

What to Expect

Thoughtful, collaborative, calm.

We keep our roster intentionally small so every project gets real attention. You'll always know where things stand, what's next, and why each decision was made. We handle the moving pieces so the process stays calm, even enjoyable.

Most full-service clients are in Brooklyn and Manhattan; e-design clients can be anywhere. Whichever path you choose, the goal is the same: a home that feels unmistakably yours.

Questions

Frequently asked

What areas does Circa22 Design Studio serve?

We provide full-service interior design for homes across Brooklyn and Manhattan, and offer remote E-Design for clients anywhere.

Do you work with co-op boards and landmark rules?

Yes. Much of our work is inside prewar co-ops and landmarked districts. We prepare board packages and alteration paperwork, and we design within your building's rules from the first walk-through.

How much does an interior designer cost?

Full-service design, E-Design, and hourly design consultations are each quoted per project after a consultation, based on the scope of the work.

What interior design services do you offer?

Full-service interior design (concept through installation), remote E-Design, and hourly design consultations, all for residential homes.

Do you only design residential interiors?

Yes. Circa22 Design Studio focuses exclusively on residential interiors: furnishing and decorating homes rather than commercial or architectural work.

How do I start a project with Circa22?

Share a few details through our inquiry form. We read every inquiry personally and usually respond the same day.

Who is the designer behind Circa22?

Circa22 is led by Daria Demin, a Fashion Institute of Technology graduate and NCIDQ-certified designer with more than 20 years of high-end residential experience, and a 2022 Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse designer.
