Space. A Westchester house has square footage, real windows, and often a skylight or a roofline you can actually use — none of which a prewar co-op or a Brooklyn brownstone will ever hand you. Bronxville, Scarsdale, Rye, the river towns: these are homes where a bathroom can be a room rather than a corridor with fixtures in it.
The risk is that the extra space goes to waste — bigger, but no better. Our work up here is about spending it deliberately: on daylight, on a proper bathing zone, on materials warm enough that a large room still feels like somewhere you want to stand barefoot in February.
Bathrooms are where our detailing shows most plainly, because everything in them has to be resolved: falls and drainage, waterproofing, glass, ventilation, heat, and lighting that flatters at six in the morning as well as ten at night. Get any one wrong and the room announces it every single day.
In Westchester that usually means a full wet zone rather than a tub jammed against a wall — a steam shower with a proper bench, a freestanding tub with room around it, warm slatted timber against cool stone, and a skylight or clerestory doing the work of a window you can't have. Concealed cove lighting keeps the whole thing from reading as a hotel.

It's the clearest example of how we handle a technical room — where the design only works because the drainage, the glass and the lighting were all decided at the same time as the finishes.
