A high-rise apartment designed as one seamless retreat, where a single material language ties together rest, focus, and gathering.
Our clients had bought a light-filled apartment high above Brooklyn, but the open plan asked a lot of a single room: it needed to be a calm place to sleep, a focused place to work, and a warm place to host, without ever feeling like a compromise between the three.
With no interior partitions to lean on, the design had to define each area through architecture and material alone: carving out privacy for the bed and quiet for the office while keeping the sweeping views and daylight completely intact.
We built the interior outward from warm woods and honest materials. A fluted walnut fireplace wall anchors the living area; a floating custom bed and a built-in office let each function feel intentional and complete. Curved, tactile furniture softens the tower's hard geometry, and a restrained palette lets the light and the city beyond do the rest.
The apartment now moves easily from morning to evening: expansive, serene, every zone distinct and nothing divided.
