A relaxed, warm family apartment where a dining room built for hosting and a kids' room built for delight live comfortably side by side: layered, livable, and easy to be in.
An Upper West Side family wanted their apartment to work for the way they live: a dining room that could host with ease, and a kids' space that would genuinely delight, all without sacrificing style along the way.
The rooms needed to hold two truths at once: durable and playful enough for children, polished enough for entertaining. Every material and finish had to work on both fronts.
We grounded the apartment in warm, layered neutrals and brought it to life with playful color accents. The dining room was built as a true gathering space: generous, welcoming, and set with hard-wearing, tactile materials. The children's room was given its own character, full of texture and personality, while staying in conversation with the rest of the home.
The apartment now works for the whole family, every day: a dining room built for gathering, a kids' room built for joy, and each feeling exactly right.
